MINE DESIGN

THREE PARTS OF MINE DESIGN:  FEASIBILITY STUDY, PRELIMINARY DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION PLAN

The key to mine design is all must be established on the basis of detailed investigation, and therefore TES will firstly take a comprehensive field study to the mine of clients including the crude ore for dressing plant, site, water, electricity, traffic, geography, etc.

These investigation contents need the cooperation of geology, mining, ore dressing, smelting, machinery, civil engineering, electric power and other departments.

In the feasibility study stage, first, TES and the client need to sign the entrustment agreement. After the two sides reaching an agreement, TES starts to establish a working group for work including: planning, investigation, data collection, planning and optimization, project evaluation, “report” writing, and exchanging views with commissioned units to form a formal report.

In all the work of the working group to carry out, investigation, data collection and plan optimization is the most important basis for selecting plant construction scheme. For these important parts, the working group requires different professional division and cooperation, including:

  • Geological specialty
  • Mining specialty
  • Mining machinery specialty
  • Civil engineering specialty
  • Electric power specialty
  • Mineral dressing specialty

After “Feasibility study report” approved, TES starts preliminary design and comes up with the design of dressing plant construction. Design mainly involves dressing, general layout, electric power, communication, civil engineering, environmental protection, water supply and drainage, tailings, safety and fire protection, investment estimates, economic benefit. For the improvement and extension enterprises, the preliminary design will illustrate the status, characteristics, plant, main problems, utilization of main buildings and equipment.

TES has many engineers who can design different types of dressing plants (less investment, quick capital return or easy management) according to clients’ requirements. What’s more, the design cost is lower than the national standard.

After the completion of the preliminary design, TES experts will gather all content to form the detailed “Preliminary design report ” submitted to the competent department of Mine Design Institute.

When the preliminary design is approved, TES starts to design working drawings. Every aspect of dressing plant needs a lot of construction drawings (generally, over 100 working drawings), such as civil construction. Engineers of TES are numerous with rich experience and drawing speed. When the working drawings completed, the designers must hand the drawings over to construction commanding officers, especially, the notes, strict regulation and important content.

Mineral Beneficiation

The initial & foremost process that most of the ores or minerals undergo after they leave any mine, is mineral processing or mineral dressing. It is a process of ore preparation, milling, and ore dressing or ore beneficiation. Ore dressing is a process of mechanically separating the  ore minerals from the gangue minerals. It is done in order to produce a concentrate containing most of the ore minerals and a tailing part (discard) containing the rest of the gangue minerals.

Ore beneficiation is primarily based on the physical properties of minerals & the gangue Minerals associated with it. Therefore, our study will principally focus on the method for increasing the fraction existing in the ore by utilizing one of the physical properties of minerals through processes like multi stage Crushing , Screening ,Milling , dense media separation, magnetic separation, wet screening, spiral clarification ,Hydrocyclone, Thickener etc. …

 Two major as well as primary operations in mineral processing plants are

  1. Comminution ( Size Reduction )
    1. This primarily involves the following activities when the ROM ( Run-of-Mine) Ores are  received from the mine end at Beneficiation Plant.
    2. Size Reduction – Crushing & Grinding
    3. Size Control – Screening & Classification

Treatment of Ores to upgrade the useful product (Concentrate) and to separate out Gangue into Tailings.                  

Ore is primarily an aggregate of economically important minerals from which a valuable metallic constituent can be profitably mined and extracted.

 It is due to this primary reason; we need to go for mineral processing and beneficiation.

Mineral processing:

The major processing methods being carried out by us in ore dressing and  mineral processing methods are as
